Managed water
AGL Hydro is the main contributor to managed water reported by AGL. In FY22, managed water at AGL Hydro decreased 20% compared to FY21. This was mostly driven by Yarrawonga Power Station, which reported a 37% decrease in managed water in FY22 due to increased rainfall and less demand for downstream irrigation.
Managed water at AGL Macquarie (Bayswater and Liddell power stations) increased 16% compared to FY21, possibly due to the overall increase in operating hours at Bayswater and Liddell power stations.
AGL Torrens managed water decreased 50% compared to FY21 due to the transition to Barker Inlet Power Station, which does not require seawater for cooling purposes.
